Amity United Methodist Youth Fellowship,
Grades 6 – 12
Church School, Sunday mornings, 9:45 – 10:40 a.m. All youth in grades 6 – 12 are invited to join Youth Minister Arden Ratcliff as we study God’s word and get to know one another. United
Methodist Youth Fellowship – UMYF UMYF
regular meetings kick off on Sunday, September 7 at 5:00 pm, but some of us
got a head start at Wet-N-Wild on the Saturday before school started. We
had a blast! The
ever popular Starbucks Bible
Study returns on Tuesday, September 9 and will meet at 7 pm at (guess
where?) Starbucks. Bring
your Bible and a few dollars if you want something to eat and/or drink. In
addition to Sunday School, UMYF,
and Starbucks Bible Study,
we will enjoy other opportunities for worship, study, service, and FUN.
Among those events: watching The
Great Debaters on Sunday, September 21, packing meals for hungry children
from around the world on Saturday, October 11 for Operation Sharehouse, and
going to Pilgrimage in
Fayetteville on November 7 – 9 for a huge gathering of other United Methodist
Youth. Don’t
get left behind – get on the Amity bus! Return to top Meet Arden Ratcliff, our Youth Ministries Intern Hi!
My name is Arden Ratcliff and I'm really excited about being your youth intern
this year! I got to know a few of you during last semester's Tuesday night
Bible studies at Starbucks, and I'm looking forward to meeting the rest of you
soon! First off, I'm sorry my first name is so weird. My
great-grandmother's maiden name was Arden and I'm named after her. (I've
never been able to buy a personalized keychain in my life.) I am from
Franklin, TN and am currently a senior at UNC; I'm majoring in religious studies
and political science and minoring in Spanish. (¡Si necesitas, puedo
ayudarte con su tarea de español!) I really like games, so you can expect
us to play lots of games during UMYF this year. One of my main hobbies is
making birthday cards for people, so if you let me know when your birthday is
you will definitely be receiving a home-made card from me this year. I
think the most surprising thing about me is that I love comic books (my freshman
year at UNC I had a Spider-man comforter on my bed in my dorm room). I'm
sure you'll learn lots more about me as we play and worship together this year!
I hope to see you all on September 5th when UMYF kicks off again!

has become an exemplary peer to our other teen musicians who serve our faith
community." Another reference stated, "I truly enjoy her
partnership as her personality is always joyful and cheerful." Congratulations
