Worship: Coming together to worship God is essential to who we are as Christian disciples. Worship “is an encounter with the living God through the risen Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit” (UM BOW, p. 13). In the gathering of diverse people the church comes together to make up the body of Christ in the world. In the Spirit we are all unified in the family of God. We are called to worship God; it is both a right and an expectation. All are welcome to fully participate in every aspect of worship at Amity. May we all be Alive in Christ!
Amity United Methodist Church was established in 1958 in the heart of Chapel Hill. We hold dear the tenets that all people matter to God and belong in the community, and by grace, become like Christ to serve the world.
